How the high “I” works with . . . 

 

High D:

During stressful times and conflict the High “I” might:

  • View the High ”D” as argumentative, dictatorial, arrogant, domineering, nervous, and hasty
  • Resent being told what to do
  • Be frustrated when good ideas go unnoticed
  • Be confused when charm doesnʼt bring a favorable response from the High “D”

To Have An Effective Relationship:

  • Must have direct communication; deal with issues in a straightforward manner; negotiate commitments and goals on an equal basis
     

High I:

During stressful times and conflict the High “I” might:

  • View another High “I” as stimulating, charismatic, outgoing, and optimistic
  • Develop relationships quickly and relate well to each other
  • Compete for recognition
  • Strive to impress one another
  • Both tend to mix business with pleasure
  • Disregard budget restraints

To Have An Effective Relationship:

  • Must have direct communication; deal with issues in a straightforward manner; negotiate commitments and goals on an equal basis


High S:

During stressful times and conflict the High “I” might:

  • View the High “S” as impassive, nonchalant, apathetic, accepting, possessive, complacent & non-demonstrative
  • Lose patience when High S doesnʼt act quickly
  • Be a motivator and encourager to the High “S”
  • Become frustrated when High “S” doesnʼt express thoughts and feelings

To Have An Effective Relationship:

  • Slow down: be more easygoing; show appreciation sincerely and establish a friendship with the High “S”. Above all, donʼt be pushy
     

High C:

During stressful times and conflict the High “I” might:

  • View the High “C” as overly dependent, evasive, defensive, too focused on details, and too cautious and worrisome
  • Experience strain in communication
  • “I” is focused on people – ”C” is focused on facts “I” is optimistic – ”C” is pessimistic
  • “I” sees the “big picture” – ”C” only sees details
  • “I” is decisive- “C” is wary and cautious

To Have An Effective Relationship:

  • Present facts clearly and be well prepared for discussion. Remove any potential threats. Expect the High “C” to express doubts and give them time to evaluate data before making a decision
